Objectives |
The program has the following
objectives:
1.- Comprehensive understanding of the business company as
the nerve center for message issuing and reception, as basis
for economic and social profitability.
2.- Training in the application of communication techniques
for management projection and profitability.
3.- Reorientation of the so called Press Office, Advertising,
Public Relations, Protocol, Marketing, and other isolated
communication techniques, in a globalization of communication,
oriented under a total and joint management of its processes,
enhancing the image of the Communication Director: DIRCOM
4.- Orientation and incentive of management capacities towards
strategy planning and communication comprehensive management
in order to optimize them based on new technologies applied
to business companies and organizations.
5.- Crisis prevention and planning training using research
and advanced diagnosis techniques, as a consequence of continuous
policies based on audits and concept controls within a global
program framework designed by detailed research and well planned
regarding image communication.
6.- Decision making and human resource management orientation,
within a suitable atmosphere for its identification, implication,
and organization interaction.
7.- Enhancement of business company training programs applied
to any public or private organization, being ahead of future
needs, creating -through research and careful diagnosis- those
programs and strategies that are adequate for each situation.

These are postgraduate studies
enhanced by a relevant professional contribution and an international
viewpoint . The latter is an added value given by the participation
in the program of students from various cultures coming from
different European and American countries.
LENGTH: Nine months. The program is scheduled for
two periods: October 14, 2003 - end of July 2004 or January
7, 2004 - December 20, 2004.
ACADEMIC HOURS: More than 450 academic hours as well
as extra-curricular tasks and activities that amount to more
than 900 hours.
TIMES: Academic classes have a fix schedule, 6:00 p.m.
to 9:30 p.m, Monday to Thursday plus conferences with visiting
professors, visits to business companies, and weekend seminars
considered compulsory for the Master's program. 90% attendance
is compulsory and absences shall be taken into account in
the students' final evaluation.
LANGUAGE: As a result of the international nature of
the Master's program, classes shall be given in Spanish, except
for those given by a foreign visiting professor in which English
is required.
STUDENT ASSISTANCE: This Master's program is characterized
by the personalized assistance to students and the friendly
atmosphere enhanced by the encouragement of a companionship
spirit.
Personalized assistance entails a continuous student evaluation
that contributes to student incentive and the possibility
to profit more from the program. This makes traditional exams
-that many times depend on the good or bad fortune of the
student - unnecessary. The program is based on innovative
didactic rules that support student action.
PLACE: This program is given at the classrooms of the
"GESTIÖ, Escuela Universitaria de Estudios Empresariales",
located at street Castillejos nº 365. In this 900 m2
premises, there are 150 m2 devoted to the library, a computers'
room and eight other classrooms. It is located next to the
Basílica de la Sagrada Familia, close to subway and
bus facilities. There are also many accommodation facilities
next to it.
Students shall be granted the diploma
of " Master's Degree in Organizational Communication
Management", issued by the "Consejo Superior de
Comunicación y Relaciones Publicas de España"
(Higher Council of Communication and Public Relations of Spain)
and the "Fundación para el Fomento de la Comunicación
y el Desarrollo" (Foundation for Communication and Development
Promotion) under the counseling of Professors' teams from
"Indiana University of Pennsylvania" and "Ball
State University", as well as the approval of the "Confederación
Iberoamericana de Comunicación y Relaciones Publicas"
(Iberoamerican Confederation of Communication and Public Relations)
and the diplomas of "Postgraduate Studies in Public Relations"
and "Expert in Meetings, Ceremonial, and Protocol Organization"
given by the "Cátedra Internacional Itinerante
de Estudios Superiores de la Confederación Iberoamericana
de Comunicación y Relaciones Públicas",
(International Itinerary Chair for Higher Education of the
Iberoamerican Confederation of Communication and Public Relations)
after the completion of the course and submission of the paper
required during the seminar as well as those papers relative
to the seminars scheduled during the course, also given and
granted by the "Consejo Superior de Comunicación
y Relaciones Públicas de España", the "Asociación
Catalana de Comunicación y Relaciones Públicas"
(Catalan Association for Communication and Public Relations)
or the "Fundación para el Fomento de la Comunicación
y el Desarrollo -AGORA".
All our Master students are covered by
a collective insurance policy for accidents subscribed with
the Insurance company ALLIANZ that cover them 24 hours a day.
In addition, once the students are registered in Barcelona,
they shall be entitled to receive official medical, hospital,
and surgical assistance as well as social security services.
The full cost of the course is 6,500 Euros,
to be paid as follows: one (1) registration fee of 2,000 Euros
and three (3) quarter fees of 1,500 Euros paid in advance
as a donation to the Foundation to cover course expenses.
Payment shall be made effective by opening an account at a
banking institution in Barcelona. If the full fee is paid
in advance, the student shall get a 10% discount on the quarter
fees.
